How to spot a fake VP seller

Scam sellers in this space follow a pattern. Once you know the pattern they are easy to avoid — here or anywhere else.

1. They ask for your password

A legitimate top-up needs your Riot ID and region. Nothing more. Anyone asking for a password or a 2FA code wants your account, not your order.

2. They DM you first

Our staff never open the conversation. If a “staff member” DMs you an offer, screenshot it and report it in the server.

3. There is no public vouch history

Ask to see completed orders with IDs attached, going back months. A seller with nothing to scroll back through is new, or has been reset after a scam.

4. Payment is off-platform only

Crypto-only, gift-card-only, or “send it as a friend payment” all remove your ability to dispute. Real sellers accept at least one traceable method.

5. The price is impossible

Regional pricing creates a real discount, not a 70% one. If it looks too cheap, someone else is paying for it — often with a stolen card, which is how buyers end up with reversed points.
